Why You Need Custom Sheets in Your Life

If you’re considering a custom size mattress or already have one on the way, bed linens might suddenly become something you need to put some thought into. Store-bought sheets are all well and good, but they’re made to fit standard mattress sizes. So, if you’re thinking about, say, a short queen mattress instead of a standard queen, an oversize mattress, or even a completely bespoke mattress for your heirloom bed, custom sheets are the answer.

Tailored Sheets Fit for Your Bed

Custom sheets work without any fuss, and can spell an end to all of that time spent struggling to get your sheets to fit over the corners of your mattress. Too-small sheets are always going to be prone to coming loose, and too-big sheets will bunch up and wrinkle. If you invest in sheets tailored to your specific mattress, you can rest easy knowing they’ll stay in place and provide a comfortable, luxurious sleeping surface night after night.

A good fit lets you get the most out of your sheets, whether you’re using a custom mattress or a standard one. A well-fitted sheet should be snug and secure, with no loose or baggy areas that can shift or bunch up during the night.

Here are the characteristics of a good fit:

• Depth: Custom made fitted sheets should be deep enough to accommodate the thickness of your mattress and any extra toppers or padding you may have. If your fitted sheet is too shallow, it can slip off the corners of the mattress, causing discomfort and more than a little frustration. A deep fitted sheet will stay in place throughout the night, ensuring you can sleep soundly.
• Length: For those with extra long mattresses or taller bed frames, it's important to look for sheets that are long enough to cover the length of the bed. You don't want to leave any gaps or exposed areas. This is especially important for flat sheets. They should comfortably cover you and your partner's shoulders while staying tucked in at the foot of the bed.
• Elasticity: A well fitted sheet should have strong and durable elastic, a characteristic more common in custom-made sheets. They withstand movement and pressure without losing their shape or elasticity. The elastic should be tight enough to keep the sheet in place, but not so tight that it creates discomfort or restricts movement.
• Material: The quality of the material used for your sheets can also affect how well they fit and feel. High-quality materials like cotton, bamboo, and linen are more breathable and durable. They can help prevent sheets from slipping or bunching up during the night.

The Benefits of Custom Sheets

Custom fitted sheets offer a range of benefits that can make them a worthwhile investment for anyone who wants a better fit and a higher quality of bedding. One of the most significant advantages of personalized sheets is that they are tailored to fit your specific bed size. Proper measurements ensure a snug, secure fit that won't shift or slip around while you sleep.

Imagine asking for exactly what you want and actually getting it. Whether you have a deep, pocket coil mattress with a custom foam topper, an extra-long queen bed, or even a luxury round or square bed, you can order custom sheets to fit. Regardless of your bed’s dimensions, all you need to do is make a note of those dimensions and let us know. Even if your custom-size mattress didn’t come from us, we’ll make you sheets that fit just right.

Ordering custom sheets also gives you a guarantee that your sheets will not only be high-quality but that they will match your specific preferences. There are many guides to buying the perfect sheets out there, but the consensus is that cotton sheets are the best. Cotton is naturally cooling and soft, and great cotton sheets should become even softer after each wash. While there are debates about the best thread count for luxurious sheets, high-quality sheets should typically have a thread count of at least 500 for the softest feeling possible.

Plus, going custom gives you full control over every aspect of the sheets you order. This includes your desired thread count, color, and pattern. Custom bedding makers offer a wide variety of high-quality cotton fabrics to choose from, and you're sure to find what you're looking for.

Custom Sheets Made for Any Bed

If you’ve invested in a custom mattress with a fun shape, such as a round mattress or a mattress with notched corners, good custom sheets ensure that the luxury of your mattress is matched and complemented by the quality of your sheets. Even if you have a standard mattress but regular sheets have proven problematic, perhaps because of a mattress pad or other adjustments you have made, then custom sheets will end the cycle of buying and returning sheets for good. Instead, you can measure your mattress at home, send in the dimensions, and order high-quality custom sheets from Custom Mattress Factory.
